Wooster, Ohio on June 11th – 14th at the Wayne County Fairgrounds

The Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio was the next stop on our tour of Ohio. Having never been to this area before, we had great expectations that were fully met but the outpouring of support from the community and surrounding areas. Our visit started with a twenty-five mile escort into town, where a large group of folks were there to welcome and help us install in the rotunda at the fairgrounds. The dedication and support for our military was very apparent with everyone that walked through those doors to view the exhibit. Despite having some storms roll in through a couple of the days we were there, people still wanted to visit, and in many cases, re-visit with us. With the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery being in close proximity to the venue, Mike Strahle and Jim Swallen were able to pay a visit to fallen Lima 3/25 Marine Christopher Lyon’s gravesite. Our visit in Wooster came to a conclusion with yet another escort, this time leaving the area.  The Eyes of Freedom team couldn’t have been happier with out time in Wooster. We look forward to returning again soon!
