Taylor High School Veterans Celebration on November 3rd – 7th in Cleves, Ohio

Our first visit to Taylor High School was in late 2011. Since then, a brand new school has opened and many more students were able to do something a little bit different for their Veterans Day week event. They were able to spend time with us, learning about the true meaning of sacrifice. Some of the students even helped with installation of the exhibit. During the five days we there, thousands of students, staff and residents from the area took the time to visit with us. Some were repeat visitors from the last time we were on display in the area. Aiden, a 6th grader was so moved by what he saw that he spent some free time in between classes to learn more about our mission every day, including the emotional moment he saluted every portrait before heading back to class. What a sight to see! Our visit to THS ended with a large assembly where EoF’s Mike Strahle spoke to the school as a large group of veterans sat on stage, listening to the program. Each veteran received a carnation from a student at the end. What a great way to celebrate our veterans. Thanks Taylor High!
