The third and final stop of the tour took us to Black Bear Casino, in Carlton. With full access to their large convention hall, the EoF had little boundaries in what we could do with the memorial and attached exhibits. This was our first time being on display at a casino. It was truly an amazing experience. Opening day started off with a powerful grand entry drumming ceremony performed by the natives of the nearby reservation; a first for the Eyes of Freedom! Throughout our stay here, thousands paid us a visit and absorbed every detail we gave then. Several repeat visitors were proof that we really made an impression on this area. With a special mother’s day tribute including another drum ceremony to officially end our Minnesota tour, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to say goodbye. We truly thank all the folks that made this one trip we will never forget. Until next time!
