Medina County Fair on July 31st – August 6th in Medina, Ohio

After over a year in the planning, the Eyes of Freedom finally made its visit to the Medina County Fair. Despite a couple days of rainy weather, around 100,000 fairgoers made their way around the fairgrounds and into the building where the EoF was on display. This marked the first time in our history that we debuted our brand new Eyes of Freedom logo flags for everyone to sign. On August 3rd, the 12th year anniversary of the passing of fourteen Marines in the display, all the forty-nine names of the fallen including both the Columbus and Brook Park units were called out during a evening ceremony. Paul Schroder, (father of fallen Lima Marine “Augie” Schroeder) also stopped in for a visit and shared stories of his fallen son. Special thanks goes to Ed Zachery with the Medina County Veterans and Jardine Funeral Home for the support and sponsorship.
