Going to the hometowns of the fallen Marines of Lima 3/25 is a special goal we cherish. When we had the chance to put together a last minute event in Galion, Ohio, home of fallen Marine SSGT Kendall Ivy, we knew this was going to be a special event. The event started with all four of Kendall’s children helping out by bringing their father’s portrait inside their school, then continuing to help install the entire exhibit. The incredible display of support from the large Ivy family was also shared by the surrounding community, all paying tribute to their local fallen hero. Thousands of students also made their way into the gymnasium during the week to hear of stories of bravery and sacrifice. This event ended with a hometown win by the Galion Tigers, as the image of Kendall shined brightly across the field from our decorated rolling display and into the eyes of Kendall’s two oldest sons, who no doubt were inspired by seeing the image of their father on the sidelines for the win. This is one event we will never forget.
