AMVETS Post 51 on August 19th – 22nd in Thornville, Ohio.

We were first contacted by the folks at AMVETS Post 51 in Thornville back in January, before the news about the draining of the adjacent Buckeye Lake hit. Tourism fell during the summer so the EoF team wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. Much to our surprise, the entire community turned out and showed amazing support for The Eyes of Freedom Memorial. A large escort and incredible welcome into Thornville set the mood for the entire time we were on display. Thousands of people filtered in to learn more about our mission and to pay respect. The folks of Thornville and surrounding areas made our departure one we won’t forget, with a rare escort out of town. The entire Eyes of Freedom team salutes everyone involved with making this an absolutely breathtaking event!
