“The Silent Battle”
As we travel the country we witness firsthand the struggles of our returning combat veterans coping with post traumatic stress and the loss of their brothers and sisters in combat and at home. Survivor guilt, grief and trauma often runs deeper than words. Art reaches the recesses of the heart and creates the connections that can break the cycle of pain.
Anita is currently working on a life sized bronze sculpture, entitled “Silent Battle” inspired by combat veteran, Brian Zimmerman from Minnesota. After having experienced the Eyes of Freedom, Brian shared a vision with the artist that he felt would inspire hope for him and other suffering veterans, “Showing a grieving warrior holding the dog tags of his fallen brothers and sisters would communicate that we are not alone in our pain.”
Please join our mission to bring this healing art to the public. We are currently seeking sponsors whose support would be permanently recognized with the sculpture. Please consider a gift specifically targeted to financing the casting of this powerful work.
Gifts over $5,000 will be recognized permanently in bronze on the base of the sculpture or on an accompanying plaque in the order of the size of the gift. Your generosity will be appreciated for all time. Please send your gift today.
